What are electronics tuck boxes?

Electronics tuck boxes are printed folding cartons for chargers, cables and small gadgets. Most are reverse tuck end cartons with a punched hang tab at the top, so they can sit on a shelf or hang on a peg. They arrive flat and fold up by hand.

They suit chargers, cables and gadgets. The cartons arrive flat and fold up at your packing bench.

Who uses electronics tuck boxes?

Accessory brands selling chargers, cables, adaptors, earbuds, smart plugs and small gadgets. Phone shops, convenience stores and online sellers use them to give an own-label product a proper retail pack.

Our photos show three common forms: a slim white cable box with a header tab, a near-cube box for a UK plug charger, and a purple carton for a charger set with a slotted hang hole.

All three are cut to one product each, with the hang tab built into the same sheet.

How does the reverse tuck work on a gadget box?

The top flap tucks in from the back panel and the bottom flap from the front. On a hang tab carton, the tab rises above the top tuck, so the flap still opens freely under it.

It is a fast closure to pack and an easy one for a customer to open. Compare it with the other closures in our tuck end box styles guide before you choose.

For a power bank or a heavier kit, a crash lock base can be quoted on the same carton. The base locks as the box opens.

What size box fits a phone charger and cable?

Measure the plug with its pins and the cable coiled the way you pack it. A tidy coil with a twist tie is smaller and more even than a loose loop.

Allow 2 to 3 mm on each side for clearance. If the charger and cable go in together, a slim carton about 70 × 25 × 120 mm inside is a common start.

These are starting points only. We cut every carton to the sizes you send.

Hang tabs for peg walls

Accessory walls in shops hang hundreds of small boxes on pegs. A punched header tab at the top of the carton takes the peg, and the box hangs straight with the front facing out.

The tab can have a round hole or a slot shaped for wider pegs, as in our purple sample. More detail is on our page for tuck boxes with punched hang tabs.

Print both faces of the tab. The back is visible from the side of the aisle, and a blank strip looks unfinished beside a printed carton.

Windows, inserts and cable cards

Our white cable sample has a window on the back panel, so the braided cable shows when the box is turned over. A front window works too, with or without clear film.

Inside, a card tray can hold a plug upright, or a wrap card can keep a cable coil tidy. Both are cut from board and fit by hand.

  • Front window for earbuds or a colourful cable
  • Back window when the front carries the photo and name
  • Card tray with a cut-out for a wall plug
  • Wrap card that holds a coiled cable flat
  • Divider for a charger and cable packed together

What should an electronics box say?

Shoppers look for the connector type, the power rating and what is in the box. Print those on the front, as our charger sample does with its wattage and plug type in large type.

Use the back for compatibility notes, instructions and the barcode. Keep the markings and any legal text your product needs on a flat panel, away from the folds.

Our designers place your artwork on the dieline for free and point out text that runs too close to a crease.

Which board and finish suits a gadget box?

We use 350gsm white SBS as standard, which takes clean whites and crisp product photos. Gadget boxes can also be made in kraft or another board on request.

Matt lamination with a spot UV product photo is a popular choice for accessories. Gloss, soft touch, silver foil and embossing are options too. See foil, spot UV and lamination explained for how they combine.

Can one design cover a whole accessory range?

Yes, and it saves artwork time. Many accessory brands keep one layout and change a colour band, the product photo and the name for each item.

A cable, a plug and a car charger can then sit side by side on a peg wall and read as one family. Shoppers who liked one product find the others faster.

Each size needs its own dieline, but the artwork template carries across. Send us the full list and we proof every carton in the range together, so you can compare them on one screen.

Packing and shipping your cartons

The cartons reach you flat, glued along the side seam. Pop each one open, tuck the bottom, add the product and any insert, then tuck the top under the hang tab.

Online sellers usually post the boxed gadget inside a small mailer. The printed carton then arrives clean, ready for the customer to open.

Flat stacks take little space, which suits small stockrooms. Production is 4–6 business days from proof approval, and free tracked UK delivery takes 2–3 business days.

Mistakes to avoid with gadget packaging

Sizing to a loose cable coil is the most common error. The coil changes shape every time, so tie it first and measure the tied coil.

Another is adding a hang tab after the proof, which means a new dieline. Also check that a back window does not sit over the barcode or the instructions.

Finally, leave room for the cable ends. A connector that presses against a tuck flap can push it open on the shelf.

Electronics Tuck Boxes: questions

What size box fits a UK plug charger?

A common starting size is about 60 × 45 × 70 mm inside, measured with the pins. Send your own sizes and we cut to them.

Can electronics boxes have a hang tab with a slot?

Yes. The header tab can have a round hole or a wider slot for broad pegs. It is cut from the same board as the carton.

Can the window go on the back of a cable box?

Yes. A back window shows the product when the box is turned, leaving the front free for the photo and name.

How do I stop a cable moving around in its box?

Coil and tie it, then add a card wrap or tray on request. Measure the tied coil, not a loose one.

Which closure is usual for electronics tuck boxes?

A reverse tuck end, with the top tucking in under the hang tab. A crash lock base can be quoted for heavier gadgets.

Can a charger and cable share one gadget carton?

Yes. A card divider keeps them apart. Send both sizes and how you want them laid out.

Is matt or gloss better for accessory packaging?

Matt with a spot UV product photo is a popular look. Gloss makes colours brighter. Both are options on the quote.

Can you print technical details on the side panels?

Yes. Every outside panel can be printed. Keep small text on flat panels, away from folds, so it stays readable.

Do gadget boxes arrive folded?

No. They come flat with the side seam glued and fold into shape by hand in seconds.

Can one order cover cables in several lengths?

Yes, if each length has its own size or design we quote them together. List the quantity of each.

How long until my electronics boxes arrive?

4–6 business days after you approve the proof, then free tracked delivery to a UK address in 2–3 business days.

Is there a charge for the electronics box proof?

No. The design proof is free, and nothing is printed until you approve it.
