What are hospitality tuck boxes?

Hospitality boxes are small printed tuck cartons for guest amenities such as soaps, vanity kits, dental kits and shower caps. They usually close with a reverse tuck end, the top flap tucking from the back and the bottom from the front. They arrive flat and glued at the side seam.

They suit hotel and guest amenities. The cartons arrive flat and fold up at your packing bench.

What goes in a hospitality box?

Guest rooms carry a set of small items: soap, a vanity kit, a dental kit, a shaving kit, a shower cap, a sewing kit and a shoe shine sponge. Each one needs its own small box, printed in the same style.

Our sample photo shows a typical carton: plain kraft board, a single dark illustration on the front and a reverse tuck top standing open with its dust flaps up.

Some hotels also box slippers, nail files and laundry bags, and these are sized the same way.

Who orders hospitality boxes?

Anyone who puts amenities in a room for a guest. In the UK that covers a wide spread of businesses.

Larger groups often order every amenity at once, while a small B&B may start with soap and a vanity kit.

  • Independent hotels and boutique hotel groups
  • Bed and breakfasts and guest houses
  • Serviced apartments and holiday lets
  • Spas and gyms with changing rooms
  • Amenity suppliers who pack kits for several hotels

Why use a reverse tuck end for amenities?

In a reverse tuck end, the top tucks in from the back and the bottom from the front. It is the most common closure for small retail cartons, and it opens with one hand.

Housekeeping staff restock rooms quickly, so a box that folds fast and sits square in a tray matters. The tucks also close again neatly if a guest opens a box and does not use it.

If you would like an auto bottom for faster packing, that can be quoted. The full set of tuck end box styles is shown side by side.

The flat ends also pack tidily into an outer carton for delivery to your property.

What sizes do hotel amenity boxes come in?

Amenity boxes are small, and the items vary a lot between suppliers. A dental kit is long and thin, while a soap box is short and flat.

Measure each item as it will be packed, in its wrap or sachet if it has one. Then add 2 to 3 mm to each side for clearance.

The table shows typical starting sizes. We cut each box to your own items.

If a supplier changes the size of an item, send the new one before you reorder so the box still fits.

How do I keep a whole amenity range consistent?

Design one layout and repeat it across every size. Keep the logo in the same place on each front panel and change only the item name.

Ordering the whole range on one quote keeps the colours matched, because every box is printed in the same run.

A small icon for each item, like the rose on our sample, helps guests tell the boxes apart at a glance.

Print the item name in the same font and size on every box, so the set reads as one.

Which board suits hospitality boxes?

Our standard board is 350gsm white SBS, with kraft and other boards on request. Kraft gives a natural look that suits rural hotels and spas, and it takes dark ink well.

White board suits a crisp, colourful brand. It shows a pale or pastel print more clearly than kraft does.

Our kraft tuck boxes page shows how print looks on brown board.

Kraft also hides small handling marks better than white.

What finishes work on amenity boxes?

Most hotels keep amenity boxes simple: one or two colours and a small logo. Foil in gold or silver on the logo lifts a plain box for a suite or spa range.

Matt lamination protects the box from damp hands in a bathroom. Embossing or debossing gives a pressed logo with no ink at all.

Each finish is an option and priced on the quote.

Bright gloss can look out of place in a calm bathroom, so most hotels avoid it.

Can hospitality boxes match our room stationery?

Yes. Send your room stationery, menus or key card designs and we match the colours and logo placement.

Many hotels use one accent colour for the room set and keep the rest white or kraft. The boxes then sit quietly beside towels and toiletries.

A photo of the bathroom tray helps too, as we can suggest sizes that sit in neat rows. If you run several properties, each can have its own colour with the same layout.

Our designers set the artwork on each dieline for free, so the whole set is laid out in one go.

How do hotels store and stock amenity boxes?

The boxes arrive flat, so a whole season's supply fits on a shelf in a linen room. Fold them in batches, fill them, and keep them in trays ready for each trolley.

Housekeeping can then drop one of each into a room basket. Square, well-sized boxes line up neatly in a bathroom tray.

Keep a few flat boxes of each size on every floor, so restocking does not mean a trip to the store room.

What goes wrong with amenity box orders?

These are easy to avoid when the whole range is quoted together.

  • Measuring a dental kit without its wrap, so the box is too short
  • Ordering each item at a different time, so the colours drift
  • Putting item names only on the narrow side panels
  • Choosing uncoated board for a busy bathroom
  • A design so busy that guests cannot tell the boxes apart

Hospitality Tuck Boxes: questions

Can I order a whole hotel amenity range on one quote?

Yes. List each item and its size, and we quote every box together. Printing them in one run keeps the colours matched.

What closure do hospitality boxes use?

A reverse tuck end as standard. Any other closure, including an auto bottom, can be quoted instead.

Can a dental kit box be long and very slim?

Yes. We cut it to the length of the brush and paste with a small clearance.

Do amenity boxes come in kraft board?

Yes, kraft is available on request. It suits hotels and spas that want a natural look.

Can each amenity box show a different icon?

Yes. Keep the layout the same and change the icon and item name. Guests can then tell the boxes apart quickly.

Will amenity boxes cope with a damp bathroom?

Matt lamination protects the outside from damp hands. Uncoated board is more likely to mark.

Can guest houses order hospitality boxes too?

Yes. Any guest house, B&B or holiday let can order. Quantities are quoted per order.

Can the hotel logo be foiled on amenity boxes?

Yes. Gold, silver or holographic foil on the logo is an option on any box in the range.

Do hospitality boxes need a thumb notch?

It is optional. A thumb notch helps a guest open a small box without tearing the tuck flap.

Can amenity suppliers order boxes for several hotels?

Yes. Each hotel's design can be quoted separately or together. Our contact page for Tuck Boxes lists the quickest ways to reach us.

How are hospitality boxes delivered to a hotel?

They arrive flat with free tracked UK delivery in 2–3 business days after production. Flat boxes take little storage space.

Can I reorder the same amenity boxes later?

Yes. We keep your dielines and artwork on file, so a repeat order needs only a quick proof check.
